The Rifle

We started with a Ruger 10/22… there’s nothing original left (oh, yes there is… the magazine). The conversion is to .17HM2 – affectionately called the Mach 2. The receiver, trigger guard, bolt and all the inner workings are Volquartsen. The barrel is a custom stainless steel, bull barrel from E. Arthur Brown. It is capped off with a Volquartsen polished aluminum stabilizer. The stock is a Fajen “Silhouette” thumbhole in coffee laminate. The scope is a Contender 8 to 32 power by 50 mm mounted with a set of three Burris Signature ZEE rings. All metal parts are extensively engraved by Brooks Burt, our master artist.

The Revolver

The revolver is a Ruger “Hunter” Single Six in .17HMR. Jon Vanderpoel did the inner work by replacing the springs and reworking the trigger. The grips are grey laminate. The Red Dot sighting system is mounted with the special Ruger scope mounts. Master craftsman Brooks Burt works his magic on the metal.

The Ruger Hunter is stainless steel with an integral top rib that is machined for the Ruger tip-off scope mounts. It holds six rounds of .17HMR firepower for your plinking needs. Lets look at some of the details below…

The Pistol

The Excel “Accelerator” is a polymer framed, semi-auto pistol in .17HMR with stainless steel barrel and aircraft aluminum rib, slide and receiver. This pistol is new to the marketplace. Excel Industries presented this little beauty for the first time in mid 2005. Here’s a closer view of the detailed work…

The Knives

These two blades are flat-ground 440-C stainless steel. The bolsters and pins are nickel silver and the scales are composite turquoise stone. The larger one is 7-5/8″ overall with a blade length of 3″ x 1″ x 1/8″. The smaller knife is 6-5/8″ overall with a blade length of 2¾” x 7/8″ x 1/8″.

The Presentation Case

The wall-mount display case features an attractive curved glass front and mirrored back which allows for complete viewing of the package within. It is constructed from solid red oak components and lined with high quality red felt. A locking feature prevents contents from unauthorized handling and keeps them safe in a dust-free environment.
